Description
Adhesive-Backed Hook & Loop Tape combines a mechanical Hook-and-Loop fastening system with a pressure-sensitive adhesive used to bond the tape to a suitable substrate. These two functions should be evaluated separately: Hook-to-Loop closure performance determines how the fastener opens and closes, while adhesive-to-substrate performance determines how securely the tape remains attached to the application surface.

Adhesion depends strongly on the substrate material, surface energy, texture, cleanliness, coating, application pressure, bonding temperature, and dwell time after installation. The same adhesive can perform differently on metal, glass, plastic, painted surfaces, or rough materials. For this reason, “strong adhesive” alone is not a complete technical specification. Initial tack, peel adhesion, and holding power describe different aspects of adhesive behavior and should be considered according to the actual application conditions.

Adhesive selection should therefore begin with the intended substrate and service environment. The adhesive system, Hook / Loop tape construction, release liner, lamination method, cutting format, and finished dimensions should be matched to the project requirements. Low-surface-energy plastics, porous materials, rough surfaces, or special coatings may require additional evaluation. **Product Name**
"Adhesive-Backed Hook & Loop Tape", combining a Hook / Loop textile fastener with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for bonding to suitable substrates where sewing is not required or practical.

**Construction / Attachment Method**
The Hook or Loop tape is laminated with a **pressure-sensitive adhesive** and protected by a release liner. After the liner is removed, the adhesive bonds to the substrate through appropriate application pressure. Hook-to-Loop closure performance and adhesive-to-substrate bond performance should be treated as separate performance systems.

**Hook / Loop Configuration**
Available as **Hook only, Loop only, or Hook + Loop matched pairs**. The mating combination should be confirmed according to Hook / Loop construction, material, application method, and project requirements to maintain consistent closure behavior.

**Material / Tape Construction / Width**
Tape materials may include **Nylon / Polyamide, Polyester, Nylon / Polyester blends**, or other suitable constructions with woven Hook / Loop surfaces. **Standard width range: 16–50 mm; custom width range: 60–110 mm.** Final width availability should be confirmed according to material, Hook / Loop construction, adhesive system, release liner, order quantity, and production conditions.

**Adhesive System / Adhesive Layer**
The pressure-sensitive adhesive should be selected according to the **substrate, surface condition, service temperature, environmental exposure, and required holding performance**. Adhesive thickness, initial tack, peel adhesion, holding power, and lamination structure should be evaluated according to the project rather than described by a single “strong adhesive” rating.

**Release Liner / Backing Protection**
**Release paper, release film**, or other suitable liner materials can be selected according to the adhesive system and conversion process. Liner construction should support application, cutting, die-cutting, storage, and production handling requirements.

**Colors / Custom Color Matching**
Black, white, standard colors, and custom colors can be developed according to **Pantone references, physical color samples, or approved samples**. Reasonable color variation may occur depending on material, dye lot, Hook / Loop construction, and adhesive-processing conditions.

**Roll Length / Supply Format / Conversion**
**Standard roll length: 25 m per roll.** Hook and Loop can be supplied as separate rolls or as matched pairs. Cut lengths, specified dimensions, sheets, and other conversion formats can be evaluated according to actual product requirements and production conditions.

**Adhesive Performance / Substrate Compatibility / Test Verification**
Adhesive properties may include **Initial Tack, Peel Adhesion, and Holding Power**, which represent different aspects of bond performance. **Packing / MOQ**
**Standard packing: 25 m per roll. Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): 50 matched roll pairs.** Each matched pair consists of one Hook roll and one Loop roll; therefore, 50 matched pairs equal **1,250 m of Hook + 1,250 m of Loop**. MOQ may vary depending on material, width, color, adhesive system, custom color matching, conversion requirements, and other project specifications.

Adhesive-Backed Hook & Loop Tape combines a mechanical Hook-to-Loop fastening system with an adhesive-to-substrate bonding system. Closure peel, shear, and cycle behavior are separate from the adhesive performance between the tape and the application surface; one should not be used to predict the other.

1. Why can the same adhesive perform differently on different substrates?

Adhesion depends on the substrate material, surface energy, texture, coating, porosity, and surface contamination. The same pressure-sensitive adhesive may therefore bond differently to metal, glass, plastics, painted surfaces, or other materials. Low-surface-energy plastics, rough surfaces, porous materials, and special coatings may require additional evaluation.

2. How should the surface be prepared before applying Adhesive-Backed Hook & Loop Tape?

The bonding surface should be clean, dry, and as free as possible from dust, oil, moisture, wax, silicone, release agents, or other contaminants. Uniform application pressure helps increase adhesive contact with the substrate. Coated or treated surfaces should also be checked for surface stability before bonding.

3. Why can a tape feel very sticky at first but still lift or fail later?

Initial tack and long-term holding power are different properties. A tape may feel strongly adhesive at first but later lift if substrate compatibility is poor, application pressure is insufficient, edges are exposed to peel stress, continuous shear load is present, temperatures change, or the bonding area is inadequate.

4. How can temperature, humidity, or continuous load affect adhesive performance?

Heat, cold, humidity, thermal cycling, continuous shear load, and environmental exposure can all change adhesive behavior. Different adhesive systems respond differently to these conditions. Where temperature, humidity, weathering, or long-term holding requirements apply, performance should be evaluated using the selected adhesive system, actual substrate, and agreed test conditions.

5. Will the adhesive leave residue or damage the surface after removal?

Residue or surface damage depends on the adhesive system, bonding time, service temperature, substrate strength, coating quality, aging, and removal method. Long-term bonding or delicate surfaces may increase removal risk. A “residue-free” result should not be assumed without testing the selected adhesive on the actual substrate.
