Compared with the garbage disaster caused by "fast fashion" in the past few years, the hot topic in the textile industry is now turning to environmental protection and sustainability. International clothing brands including Adidas and Nike have proposed the commitment and goal of using green recycled materials, driving recycled esters The demand for pellets (R-PET) is increasing rapidly year by year. In the past, textile mills mainly recycled discarded PET bottles and marine garbage as raw materials to produce recycled ester pellets. However, the market demand is too large now, and recycling PET bottles alone is no longer enough. Domestic textile mills have begun to target Weaving recycling of old clothes and waste cloth, including Far East New, Xinxian, Lili, Jisheng, Juyang, and Nanya under the Formosa Plastics Group, are all rushing to invest.

 

According to statistics, although the price of environmentally friendly recycled textile fiber products is 30% higher than that of traditional original products, under the global trend of pursuing green carbon reduction, the demand for environmentally friendly recycled polyester by international brand manufacturers continues to increase, and domestic textile fiber factories have invested The expansion of green textile production capacity will benefit revenue and increase profits.

 

FEC is at the forefront of the industry in the development of environmentally friendly polyester. It has launched a visual fabric recycling polyester fiber, which turns old clothes that would have been treated as waste into new yarns "old clothes/waste cloth recycling" Cloth and Apparel. Nanya's fabric recycling and decolorization technology, after inputting recycled clothing materials, can be directly decolorized, turned into monomers, and then re-polymerized into ester particles, claiming that the quality is equivalent to that of virgin polyester.

 

The biodegradable fibers of Xinfiber's new decomposition technology provide solutions for the treatment of old clothes and waste cloth. After the waste cloth is processed, it can be re-drawn to make clothes. It is in negotiation with customers for sale.

 

Jisheng, a major processed yarn and nylon manufacturer, cooperates with Juyang, a major garment manufacturer, to sort the scraps cut by the garment factory, and then send pure polyester fabrics to Jisheng, where they are remelted into yarn, Cloth will be returned to Juyang Garment for shipment.

 

Juyang utilizes the environmentally friendly yarn and cloth produced by Jisheng to make "garment recycling clothing" that can reduce carbon dioxide by 95% from the source. It focuses on customizing patterns and has been adopted by 5 to 6 American brands.

 

And Lili has also begun to invest in recycling clothing materials. Although it is still testing the machine, the technology is mature and has begun to cooperate with American sports brand factories. In the future, Lili will expand its investment in decolorization factories, which are expected to be launched by the end of 2023.
