【Taiwan】Recycled ester pellets in short supply
The new regulations of the EU, the US and Japan requiring the use of recycled materials above a certain ratio in packaging materials have pushed up the global demand for recycled ester pellets R-PET. It will use land, sea and air waste as the source of renewable raw materials to expand production capacity. The goal is to increase the existing production capacity by 5 times in 10 years, with an annual output of 1.5 million tons.
In 2021, Far East's new R-PET production capacity is 324,000 tons. According to the plan, future expansion bases will include Japan, the United States, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
The Far East's new land, sea and air waste recycling plan has been carried out, among which the land is to recycle waste PET, the sea is to recycle waste plastics in the ocean, etc., and the air is to convert the carbon waste discharged into R-PET through recycling.
At present, Far East New Ocean's production capacity of recycled polyester is the first in the world, and the production capacity of recycled ester pellets is also the second in the world.
Far East New pointed out that the group has already cooperated with adidas and NGO Parley on the "Ocean Recycling Project" to recycle discarded bottles from the ocean. Cooperated with Lululemon/Zara and LanzaTech to develop the world's first fabric using recycled carbon waste gas. These are world firsts.
In addition to cooperating with apparel factories and beverage factories such as Coca-Cola, Far East's new R-PET has also cooperated with German Continental tires to apply polyester recycled yarns to high-end performance vehicles.
Due to the rapid increase in global demand for recycled materials, Far East Xin pointed out that the group has been deeply engaged in the R-PET market. Since 1988, it has established a factory in Taiwan and invested in recycled ester pellets (R-PET) for more than 30 years. Starting from Taiwan, it has expanded globally. production bases in other countries. Future expansion bases will include Japan, the United States, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
Far East's new R-PET capacity expansion schedule will increase from 324,000 tons in 2021, 870,000 tons in 2025, and 1.5 million tons in 2030. (Source: wantrich.chinatimes 0608) ☺
